Cardiogen.

Heart-specific cytoprotective peptide

How it works

Class & mechanism.

Class

Cardiac Bioregulator Peptide

Mechanism

Cardiogen (Ala-Glu-Asp-Arg, AEDR) is a synthetic tetrapeptide bioregulator that enters the cell nucleus and binds to DNA-associated proteins, upregulating genes responsible for cardiomyocyte survival, cytoskeletal proteins (actin, vimentin, lamin A/C), and extracellular matrix repair. It suppresses p53 protein expression in cardiac tissue, thereby inhibiting apoptosis in stressed cardiomyocytes and promoting proliferation of cardiac progenitor cells. Simultaneously, it down-regulates pathological fibroblast maturation, reducing scar formation and fibrotic remodeling after ischemic injury.

Did you know

Cardiogen doesn't just repair the heart — it can selectively trigger cancer cell death in tumors while simultaneously protecting cardiac cells from dying, suggesting a mechanism that 'reads' cell health context before deciding whether to save or destroy.

Benefits

What it does.

01

Reduces cardiomyocyte apoptosis by down-regulating p53 expression in myocardial tissue

02

Promotes cardiac progenitor cell proliferation and myocardial regeneration after injury

03

Supports healthy blood pressure through enhanced nitric oxide production and improved endothelial function

04

Reduces inflammatory markers (CRP, IL-6) and oxidative stress burden in cardiac tissue

05

Slows age-related cardiac decline by restoring youthful gene expression patterns in heart cells

Cardiogen

Cardiogen demonstrated significant stimulating effect on cardiomyocyte proliferation in both young and old rat cardiac tissue; immunohistochemical analysis confirmed decreased p53 expression, indicating inhibition of apoptosis in myocardial tissue

Cardiogen

Cardiogen showed dose-dependent inhibition of M-1 sarcoma growth in rat models through development of hemorrhagic necrosis and stimulation of tumor cell apoptosis — suggesting selective pro-survival action in cardiac cells vs. pro-apoptotic action in tumor cells

Cardiogen

Clinical use over several decades in Russia showed improvements in ischemic heart disease symptoms, heart failure markers, blood pressure (5–15 mmHg systolic reduction), and angina frequency with minimal adverse effects

Protocol

How to use it.

Dosing

Injectable: 5–20 mcg subcutaneously per day, or every other day, as used in research protocols. Oral capsule forms (where available): 20–80 mg/day divided into 1–2 doses with meals. Protocols are typically 10–30 day cycles.

Cycle

Standard cycle: 10–14 days on, repeat 2–4 times per year for maintenance or preventive use. Post-cardiac-event protocols may extend to 20–30 days. Allow 1–3 months between cycles.

Contraindications

When to skip it.

No significant toxicity reported in available research. Use with caution in patients on anticoagulants or anti-hypertensives (additive effects possible). Not FDA-approved; research-grade only. Avoid in pregnancy (insufficient data). Consult physician before combining with cardiac medications.

Always cleared with your concierge before protocol start.
